In this guide I will show you how to build a kick ass wall by making one small change to the base layout. This will ensure you kill 99% of all bugs with no galactic brain super theory. Literally, one small change and you have a kick ass defense.
Step 1: Stop building dumb walls
Do not build a wall at the very edge of the base. Here’s why:
You can’t shoot bugs at the base of the wall- Sentry Guns inside the wall can’t shoot directly down either
- The wall blocks line of sight for everyone else
- A worker bug can kill it
- You look like a smooth brain (even the brain bug wont eat your noggin)
Step 2: Use a bunker and build the wall deeper
Literally, just build the wall slightly deeper inside the base and cover it with a bunker.
Build a bunker at the edge of the base
Build the wall half a square inwards, run the wall as far as it needs to go
When the bugs attack a single Bastion can defend the entire wall solo
Feel like a winner

Step 3: Add extras to make a super wall
Bonus extras; the short walls add a lot of durability to entire wall. Do not underestimate the power of a buffer zone!
Add a sentry gun in the middle of the wall. Will kill everything for you- Build Short Walls 1/4 towards the edge (at the edge works too)
This creates a buffer zone to delay the bugs from getting to the main wall
Add any Sensor Beacons or Shock Beacons in front of the short walls
