Sea of Thieves: How to Get The Ashen Dragon Set in 2021

Hello and welcome to my first guide on Sea of Thieves!

Sea of Thieves has a lot of cool sets and the Ashen Dragon is defiantly one of the best sets in the game.

In order to unlock Ashen Dragon items and clothing you’ll need to sell ashen tomes, these are found in ashen chests.

There are a total of 20 ashen tomes split into 4 groups. Selling each tome for the first time to either Larinna (outside of the tavern) or the servant of the flame (on reaper’s hideout) will unlock a new item and you’ll get a commendation with it.

The easiest way is to buy ashen key and chest voyages from Larinna (outside the tavern) but they are quiet expensive, ashen chest voyages are 50 doubloons and ashen key voyages are 99 doubloons each.

If you can’t buy the voyages don’t worry, there are other ways you can find ashen chests and keys.

You can get ashen chests and keys by defeating Ashen Guardians and Key masters, ashen Guardians drop a note which leads to an ashen chest and ashen Key masters drop an ashen key and don’t require additional work.

Keep in mind that the chances of them spawning are very low, however you will find them during the final waves of a skull fort.

You will also get an ashen chest from the vault of a skeleton fort and you’re guaranteed three ashen chests if you defeat a skeleton fleet.

There is also a chance of ashen chest drops if you take out a kraken, a megalodon or an emergent skeleton ship.

I almost forgot that you can also fish for an ashen key but the chances are very low so I wouldn’t waste my time on it.

So those are the only ways of getting your hands on the ashen tomes and unlocking the Ashen dragon set.

Beware that you will get a lot of duplicates so don’t lose hope and keep opening those chests.

Selling one of each Tome of Power will unlock the Flintlock of the Ashen Dragon

Tome of Fire I – Unlocks Drum of the Ashen Dragon
Tome of Fire II – Unlocks Hurdy-Gurdy of the Ashen Dragon
Tome of Fire III – Unlocks Concertina of the Ashen Dragon
Tome of Fire IV – Unlocks Banjo of the Ashen Dragon
Tome of Fire V – Unlocks Speaking Trumpet of the Ashen Dragon
Selling one of each Tome of Fire will unlock the Blunderbuss of the Ashen Dragon

Tome of Resurrection I – Unlocks Flag of the Ashen Dragon
