Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Here is a quick guide to changing planet and moon gravity.
– C:\Users\(YourName)\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\(might be a string of numbers)\(Save’sName)
2. Open File – “SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs” in notepad.
– C:\Users\(YourName)\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\(might be a string of numbers)\(Save’sName)\SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs
3. Look for (CTRL+F) “SurfaceGravity” (case-sensitive) and edit the value between to what you want. Theres 6-7 lines of <SurfaceGravity>1</SurfaceGravity>
– To double gravity on earthlike: FROM <SurfaceGravity>1</SurfaceGravity> TO <SurfaceGravity>2</SurfaceGravity>
– To double gravity on moonlike: FROM <SurfaceGravity>0.25</SurfaceGravity> TO <SurfaceGravity>0.50</SurfaceGravity>
4. Save File (CTRL+S)
5. Delete File – “SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB5”
– C:\Users\(YourName)\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\(might be a string of numbers)\(Save’sName)\SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB5
6. Open Space Engineers and load save
– Expect and click “OK” on the pop-up stating “The file format of this world is outdated which may cause longer initial loading times. The world will be automatically updated to the new format after the first load.”
7. Enjoy the gravity
