Introduction
For all 3 of the headline characters (Sophia Rymmington, Johnny Hamsleeves, Dr David Wong & Ingrid S.) and the side characters (Blunderclatch, J-Zuss, Lil’C), their epilogue in the credits must be the most negative. Your entire family must die (Sam, Chris, Charlie, Suzie, Ruth), and all four companies must go bankrupt (Rymmington-Svist, Neil’s Deals Limited, Pleasure Corp, Eye of the Beholder). Oh and, the entirety of the main cast must die as well (I’ll get to that in the next section).
Before I begin, I’d suggest going both Anti-Advance and Anti-Disrupt, so both sides look terrible and struggle throughout the entirety of the game. So don’t play any of their adverts, choose the worst headlines, and don’t censor any blue or orange waveforms. You’ll want to be getting the “Wacky Fun” epilogue anyway (if you’re trying to ruin literally everyone), and that epilogue doesn’t require you to side with any specific faction. Though make sure you do NOT kill Alan during the uprising, but you can have Jeremy die during the heatwave.
Also, THIS GUIDE CONTAINS HUGE SPOILERS!
You’ve been warned.
The Main Cast
Well, it’s actually not. You see, in “Finale C” (Jeremy dead, Alan Alive), Alan will break into the studio with his henchmen and try to take over The Nightly Show. Colin and Sarah are guaranteed to die in this finale. If you don’t play the footage, he’ll shoot Julia and Jenny, and then bomb the entire studio, killing Megan as well.
(Julia dies anyways if you play the footage, but Megan and Jenny won’t)
I’m not sure what happens to Robyn and Not Patrick, but I’m assuming they died as well since they were probably in the studio when Alan’s bomb exploded.
Boseman also dies in this finale (you can hear the moment right before he gets attacked through the tannoy at the beginning of the segment)
If you do all of this right, you’ll also get the “Wacky Fun” epilogue, which shows Geoff in a lame kid’s show being humiliated. So that’s fun too!
Oh, and if you’d like, you can also ruin Tommy Harris’ life as well by booing only him in the first episode of The Noticeboard (Day 371). Then, on Day 912, for the finale of The Noticeboard, he will be drunk and ruin the entire show.
You can also just play the booing sound effect during the entire premiere of The Noticeboard, so then it makes Geoff look bad. But either one is fine.
Headline Characters
There are three main headline characters. Sophia Rymmington, Johnny Hamsleeves, and Dr David Wong & Ingrid S. Let’s go down the line.
Sophia Rymmington
Sophia’s is pretty sad, since the only way to get a bad ending for her is to make her commit suicide by flinging herself into a flard mixing vat. But it’s the simplest out of all the three (besides the Flard Fesitval lawsuit ending, but that one’s a lot harder to get), and also it’s the absolute worst one. Here are all 4 of the headlines you should choose to make this happen…
Oh yeah also, I’m not sure if this really matters, but make sure you don’t show any of her adverts too so her company stock plummets.
1. Gambler Sophia on Day 8 (This sets up her entire career as a terrible CEO)
–
2. Youth Employment Scheme on Day 153 (Sophia comes up with a new idea for children to work at a young age)
–
3. Angry Reaction on Day 232 (People hate Sophia’s Youth Employment Scheme)
4. Distressed Sophia on Day 296 (Sophia is overwhelmed by the negative criticism)
–
5. C.E.O RIP on Day 912 (Sophia commits suicide by flinging herself into a flard mixing vat)
There is also the Flard Fesitval lawsuit ending, and some other ones. But as mentioned earlier, this ending is the absolute worst one.
This is the epilogue you should get for this character:
–
Dr David Wong & Ingrid S.
This is another that’s pretty linear, but ends up killing the entire scientist team. You can kill either one character by following different headlines, but as I said in the last section, this is the absolute worst ending to get (since they all kill each other in a fight).
1. Enemy Scientists on Day 8 (Start them off by having them HATE each other)
–
2. Arms Race on Day 153 (Both sides plan an attack on each other)
–
3. Angry Reaction on Day 232 (The public is disgusted by the scientists’ battle on each other)
–
4. Fighting Scientists on Day 296 (Tension between the two sides becomes worse)
–
5. Dead Scientists on Day 912 (The scientists are all dead from the war)
There are other endings you can get that ends up with them dying, but I think this is the worst since they kill each other, which is just depressing.
This is the epilogue you should get for these characters:
–
Johnny Hamsleeves
This one took me a while to get, since you don’t actually have to pick the most negative headlines to get the worst ending. Nevertheless, this is the worst ending, since like Sophia Rymmington, it’s the only one where Johnny dies (From an illness I presume).
1. Dating on Day 8 (Johnny Hamsleeves and Tiffany L’Amour begin dating)
–
2. Test Results on Day 153 (Johnny finds out that he is ill)
–
3. Neutral Reaction on Day 232 (The public is indifferent on Tiffany’s loyalty to Johnny)
–
4. “The Hammon Ball” on Day 296 (Johnny starts a new hobby as a human cannonball)
–
5. Johnny’s Gravestone on Day 912 (Johnny dies from his unknown illness)
–
And yeah. This is the worst ending you can get for Johnny, since well, you know. He dies.
This is the epilogue you should get for this character:
And these are all the worst possible endings you can get for these characters. They’re all pretty simple to get if you follow this guide right. They also won’t appear on the red carpet either, since they’re all dead. Hope you enjoyed killing all three of the headline characters 🙂
Side Characters
Laurence Blunderclatch
For Blunderclatch, you simply just need to show his breakdown on Day 1 right after his interview. Remember? That one Dave that mentions you can watch back later in the archives? Well, you can simply just ignore that and cut back to either camera 2, 3, or 4 instead of showing the trailer for The Medicated. I’d suggest staying on Blunderclatch for 5 seconds before cutting back to camera 1, so your ratings don’t plummet to the bottom.
–
On Day 1975, during the Red Carpet segment, Blunderclatch will freak out and blame the NNN for his ruined career (but that’s obviously a lie, he brought it upon himself). There are actually four versions of this appearance, and they depend on how you portrayed him on Day 1, and if you showed a lot of EOB ads. But there are only two epilogues, which only depend on how you portrayed him (We want the worst one, so follow the steps provided above).
–
His career has been ruined, and he now lives as a talking clock.
–
J-Zuss
J-Zuss’ inevitable fate is also pretty simple to get as well. All you have to do is censor everything in his song on Day 232 (including the blue waveforms).
–
On Day 1975, during the Red Carpet, he’ll blame the NNN for “silencing the truth” and is now working as a solo artist since he got dropped by his managers.
–
Just like Blunderclatch, his career has been ruined, and he now makes music at his parent’s house.
–
Lil’C
This one is extremely simple too. On Day 371, during the Lil’C segment, right when she announces her new clothing line, a Disrupt hack will appear on the interference screen. You’ll want to show the hack instead of the model.
–
On Day 1975, during the Red Carpet, “Lil’C” (or is it Lil’C?) will appear with her dad. They will try to promote their new cosmetics line in a desperate attempt to get cash, since a “certain tv show failed to fulfill their contractual obligations”.
–
Aaand just like all the rest, Lil’C’s career has been ruined as a musician since her albums just keep on flopping.
–
And just like that, all the side characters’ lives have been ruined. Good thing none of them can die though, right? Wait, they can’t die, right????
Companies
The thing is, only three companies can actually go sorta bankrupt. Rymmington-Svist doesn’t actually have a “bankruptcy epilogue”, it’s only based on what headlines you choose for Sophia Rymmington. The company does have a bankruptcy advert though (Flash Sale). Eye of the Beholder doesn’t even have both (bankruptcy epilogue or advert). Its epilogue only shows Helena Cantlebury-Boatshoe’s epilogue (Either living or dead), but it’s still very dependent on EOB’s stock.
Pleasure Corp and Neil’s Deals Limited have both.
Also, make sure you invest in EOB stock in the “A Profitable Partnership” incident right away. I’ll explain why later.
So this section will also include a “death guide” for Helena, but won’t include an RS guide.
You do want one so the guide feels complete? Fine.
Rymmington-Svist
Don’t show any of this company’s adverts at all.
This will be their final advert:
(RS: Flash Sale)
Happy?
Neil’s Deals Limited
Again, don’t show any of this company’s adverts at all.
This will be their final advert:
(Crazy Neil: Closing Down Sale)
–
And this will be their epilogue. Neil is now homeless:
–
Pleasure Corp
And again, don’t show any of this company’s adverts at all.
This will be their final advert:
(Pleasure Corp: Joy of Liquidation)
–
And this will be their epilogue. Wonder what the SS FunShip could’ve been.
–
Eye of the Beholder
Now this one’s a bit different because it’s actually reversed. EOB doesn’t actually have an epilogue or final advert, but what you do with EOB will actually affect Helena, the company’s spokesperson.
You see, if you advertise all of EOB’s adverts, Helena will actually die from the cosmetics she’s advertising because they’re toxic. But if you don’t show any of them, she lives. It’s odd.
Nevertheless, the obvious choice here is to invest in EOB stock and always play their adverts in each segment of each broadcast. Because hey, what’s a bad ending guide without over a million people dying from toxic cosmetics they thought were safe because it was on TV? Plus, EOB can’t actually go bankrupt even if you tried, so it doesn’t even count.
Oh yeah, this also affects Blunderclatch’s appearance on Day 1975. If Helena dies, he’ll be holding an urn of her ashes, but won’t if she doesn’t die.
Here’s Helena’s epilogue.
–
So yeah, that’s how you can ruin all four of the companies (sort of). It’s pretty insane how much power you have over those four companies, but I mean like, can’t they advertise on other channels too?
Anyways, if you wanted to, you could also not show EOB adverts and just show Channel 1 or Advance adverts for the entire playthrough of the game, but then Helena will survive. It’s up to you.
Your Family
I’ll go through the family members in chronological order, from when you have an opportunity to kill them, up till the final incident. Let’s go down the line.
Chris Wells
So right from the get-go on Day 6, Chris will come to your house in the middle of the night asking for your passport so they can leave the country (Because of a “certain policy” imposed by a “certain political party”). You’ll need to give them the passport, no second thoughts. This is because on Day 371, when Advance detonates the bombs, Chris will be in one of the territories where the bombs detonated.
–
This will be their gravestone on Day 2340:
–
Suzie Winston
On Day 48: A Tight Christmas, Suzie will ask you for some money so she could travel the territories with her friends. Accept her request right away. Just like Chris, on Day 371, she’ll die from the bombs detonated by Advance.
(If you keep Chris alive, for some reason, make sure you don’t fight with him or else Suzie won’t ask)
–
This will be her gravestone on Day 2340:
–
Ruth Winston
On Day 180: A Burden To Bear?, Alex will be in the kitchen with Sam looking over some bills. You’ll have the choice to either send your mother to the transition centre, or pay for a nurse. The game forces you to send her to the transition centre if your wealth is very low, but if you’re rich you can hire a nurse. Always send her to the transition centre.
–
This will be her gravestone on Day 2340:
–
Charlie Winston
Charlie’s death is a bit more difficult to get, but it’s easy to understand if you’re on the right track. First and foremost, you’ll want to make Charlie side completely with Disrupt. This means that you should not sign him up for Go-Getters (but make sure you make Sam happy up until that point so she doesn’t sign him up), and always baby him by not letting him go to his friend’s house and patronizing him. This is so he becomes more rebellious.
On Day 989, this incident will appear where Charlie dies in Betterment:
–
And his will be his gravestone on Day 2340:
–
Sam Winston
Sam is sort of the final character to die in the game, and it’s a combination of all your characters deaths. Basically, you’ll need to kill both Charlie and Suzie by following the steps above, and become broke and move out of your family home. On Day 2303: A Foregone Conclusion, they’ll try to come into the flat drunk. You’ll need to kick them out of the flat, so then afterwards they die in a drunk car accident. A brutal ending to your entire family.
–
And this will be their gravestone on Day 2340:
–
And just like that, your entire family is dead. It sort of shows how dark this game can get, and it can get REALLY dark. Nevertheless, you’re trying to get the true bad ending, so I hope this helped.
Thanks to Marioguzy for his great guide, all credit to his effort. you can also read the original guide from Steam Community. enjoy the game.
