Shinobi: Tailed Genesis Tier List – Best Heroes Ranked

The current meta is defined by a handful of characters that can single-handedly win fights, while a long tail of others waste your resources. This tier list ranks every hero in Shinobi: Tailed Genesis from God Tier to C Tier, giving you the definitive guide on who to invest in and who to bench for the current meta. We’ll cover the latest update’s impact, the trap that is Awakened White Zetsu, and exactly where your hard-earned shards should go.

Latest Version Update Highlights

The game’s latest patch has shifted the landscape with a few key events. The Rakun Trick (Raccoon Trick) event is a 3-day affair offering random rewards—a nice bonus but not a primary focus. The major change is the Akatsuki Genbu (Xiao Xuanwu) limited UR event, which brought White Zetsu into Awakening Mode. The current limited banner features ObitoKaguya, and Naruto Kurama, all of whom are top-tier picks. Note the server split: Global players are dealing with Awakened White Zetsu, while the China server has Sasuke Limited as the UR exclusive.

Awakened White Zetsu Mechanics and Performance

Do not be fooled by the new skill animation. White Zetsu’s awakening introduces Mayfly Technique (Mayfly Jutsu). This skill splits off a clone of half his body, granting him a 20% Attack and Defense boost. The clone replicates his skills, automatically granting two additional buffs. It lasts 12 seconds, copies 50% of Zetsu’s main stats, but cannot use his Ultimate.

On paper, this sounds like a disruptor. In practice, Zetsu is an Assassin with zero self-enhancing or survival passives. He has no damage output and cannot carry a team. He is a slot-filler that does nothing useful. It is highly recommended not to waste resources awakening or starring him up. He belongs in the trash tier.

Tier Guard (God Tier / Pillar Level)

These characters are not just strong; they warp the game around them. They are extremely hard to defeat, even in Trials, and display overpowered mechanics.

  • Hasirama Senju: Tanker with perfect, comprehensive mechanics. Nearly unkillable, can solo two Uchiha characters unless heavily CC’d.
  • Kaguya: Extremely cheap and brutal mechanics. High skill damage, two escape skills (one active, one passive), strong CC, and self-heal. Limited event character.
  • Obito: Mage. The first mage capable of summoning. His summon is a fully functional tank with taunt. Obito has CC, double escape, dodge, and counter attack.
  • Sasuke Limited Anniversary: Tanker with brutal damage. His ultimate pulls distant enemies together. Has massive damage reduction and becomes untargetable during Susanoo. So strong that the devs nerfed his teammates (Naruto and Sakura). Essential for whales.

Tier S (Extremely Strong / Meta Core)

These characters form the backbone of any competitive lineup. They are top-tier and will carry you through most content.

  • Uchiha Itachi: Non-limited but has a comprehensive and broken skill set, including an escape skill.
  • Madara Uchiha: Strong competitor to Itachi. Lacks a pure escape but has Susanoo protection, making him immune to all bad effects and damage as long as Susanoo is active.
  • Orochimaru: Support. The unquestionably best non-limited support, completely outclassing Sakura.
  • Naruto Kurama: High damage output and debuff application. Critical weakness: no escape skill, making him vulnerable to assassins.
  • Sasuke Limited: An evergreen core from early to late game, highly recommended for investment.

Tier A (Good but with Clear Weaknesses)

These characters are strong but have notable flaws that prevent them from being top-tier.

  • Kakashi: Tanker. Annoying mechanics but awkward. His Waterwall is often misplaced, and his Kamui can save enemies from fatal damage.
  • Sunade Limited: Tanker. Charge-type tank with high ultimate damage that scales with low HP. Self-heals on skill use but cannot heal without skills. Cannot reach backline enemies, lacks taunt, and stun only hits front tanks for 3 seconds.
  • Pain: Mid-row. Comprehensive with CC, debuffs, and escape. Very weak damage output compared to other DPS.
  • Jiraiya: Tanker. A hybrid tank (Naruto + Kakuzu). Can turn enemy DPS into a frog and summon a tanky frog with taunt. No damage at all.
  • Minato Namikaze: Assassin. High single-target burst. Targeting system is flawed; often hits tanks or supports instead of mages, requiring AOE teammates to soften targets.

Tier B (Barely Usable / Not Recommended for Deep Investment)

These are transitional heroes, usable early but not viable late game. Do not waste resources on them.

  • Deidara: Mage. Summons clones for AOE damage, but damage is only mid-tier, lacking the impact of top mages.
  • Hinata: Assassin/Mid-row. DPS that ramps up over time, but damage is mid-tier and outclassed by higher-tier characters.
  • Sakura Haruno: Support. Usable early but her pure heal is countered by heroes like Itachi. Completely replaced by Orochimaru late game.
  • Kakuzu: Tanker. Only notable for taunt, forcing enemies to attack him. No mobility, no damage, no other utility.
  • Naruto normal mode: Tanker. Has an extra life from Kurama, making him durable. But his mechanics are one-dimensional (clones and Rasengan), with no taunt or disruption.

Tier C (Extremely Bad / Not Worth Investing)

These characters are fundamentally flawed and useless at high stars or awakening. Stop upgrading them immediately.

  • Zetsu: Even with awakening, he has no damage and is a useless assassin that takes up a slot.
  • Hidan: Assassin. Has a passive that pulls backline enemies forward, but deals no damage. A ‘damageless assassin’.
  • Mei Terumi: Mage. No damage, no hard CC. Passives focus on escape and ineffective disruption.
