┌ Story—Early Game
Meet Locke at the HideoutSome of these recruitment missions are mutually exclusive during the week they become available. The mission(s) you didn’t initially pick can be found again through expeditions.
As part of the story, you’ll initially have to choose between recruiting 2 agents—Ana Sofía (Combat Medic) and Célestine (Poison-wielding + Mind Control Assassin). You can recruit the other agent later. Who you recruit first is up to preference.
As part of the story, you’ll initially have to choose between recruiting Mother Amina and Danys Belfort (see relevant achievements below). You can recruit the other ally later. Who you recruit first is up to preference and only affects the base upgrades you can access earlier.
Hidden Power
Learn the truth about the Houses of the Banished Court
├ Story—Heists & Keystones
Keystone Recovery missions do not have an achievement tied to them. Regardless, you still need all 4 to progress the story. Each subsequent Keystone Recovery mission seems to slightly increase in difficulty. The Usurpers that spawn near the end of these missions attack everything on sight and can be used to your advantage. This remains true even for the final mission.
Heists come in 3 parts:
- Heist Setup
- Prep Work (Optional) – Completing these makes the Heist easier.
- The Heist
I don’t recommend doing all Prep Work missions in the same run wherein you try to recruit all 10 Base Agents. Depending on RNG, you may run out of time before completing 1 or the other task.
The Persephonite
Complete the Marteau Heist, “The Other Side”
The Abyssal Nectar
Complete the Nicastro Heist, “The Cold Epiphany”
The Red Sulfur
Complete the Strum Heist, “Tomb of the Everlasting”
└ Story—Final Mission
Complete the CampaignThe final mission pits you against all Scions (not at the same time). You don’t need to fight all of them as I was able to sneak around the 2nd Scion and make my way to the “winner”. I personally believe having Marteau as the winner is the best-case scenario because of his defensive style. Once you reach the final Scion, you’ll lose one of your (4) deployed Agents so choose who you send away wisely. You can drop their items on the ground before sending them in for extra supplies. After losing the Agent, you’ll need to play defensively for 6 turns until you can finally damage the Scion.
Sometime during those 6 turns, Usurpers will spawn on both sides of the battlefield. Leave them alone so they can distract your enemies.
Once the Scion is dead, all enemies except the Usurpers will be vulnerable to Finishers for a couple of rounds.
You can use this to your advantage alongside The Satyr card (+3 Speed to the entire party at Level 5) to get free movement across both sides of the map leading to the Escape zone. Using Finishers doesn’t cost AP if the enemy is within 1 movement range.
Like Back in the War
Complete the Campaign on Survivor Mode
- Don’t do unnecessary missions unless you really need it for purchasing/upgrades. This means you don’t need to do Prep Work missions (if you can handle it) or recruit all Agents. Remember that you want to minimize the gain on the Doomsday Clock.
- It’s up to you whether you recruit 4~6 Agents (4 deployable for critical missions and 1~2 for expeditions), but just remember that you can still get by without all the Allies and Agents. What’s important is managing the Doomsday Clock and your Aether/Supplies for upgrades and shop purchases. Using resources wisely has a larger overall impact than earning a bit of extra resources from search expeditions.
- Save/reload a mission if you think a King’s Aether can spawn in.
- Use Crossroad Beacon (Infernal Device) missions strategically to revert Breakpoints.
- Keep an eye out for The Satyr (+3 Speed to the entire party at Level 5) card. Run to the Escape zone instead of fighting whenever the option presents itself because Stress Breaks, Mortal Danger, and their post-mission consequences (Breaking Card and Wounded) are too heavy a burden to bear for your Survivor Mode run.
The Rebel Agent
Recruit Ana Sofía
The Spy in the Dark
Recruit Célestine
Recruitment
After recruiting your first agent and ally, you’ll learn about After recruiting your first agent and ally, you’ll learn about expeditions. Expeditions unlock special missions that progress the story, earn resources (Supplies/Aether/Intel), and reveal recruitment missions for the rest of the available roster. Please note that Nocturne, though powerful, is an agent locked behind DLC. I was originally recording individual videos for all the recruitment missions until I realized during my 2nd run that the mission maps are not unique.
The Rebel Agent
Recruit Ana Sofía
The Spy in the Dark
Recruit Célestine
The Bodyguard
Recruit Fedir
The Bohemian
Recruit the Alexandrite
The Renegade
Recruit Jianyi
The Vigilante
Recruit Judith
The Sharpshooter
Recruit Purnima
Unlike Agents, Allies cannot be utilized on the field except during their recruitment mission. Instead, they provide passive upgrades at the cost of Aether/King’s Aether.
The Healer
Recruit Mother Amina
The Weaponsmith
Recruit Danys Belfort
The Cartomancer
Recruit Madame Mei
The Best of the Worst
Recruit the base 10 Agents in a single campaign
This achievement has an element of RNG. If you find yourself not getting any recruitment mission search expeditions, try progressing the Keystone missions a bit. I personally didn’t get my 7th and 8th Agents until completing 1 Keystone Recovery mission. I do not suggest completing all Prep Work Heist missions in the same run that you try to recruit all 10 Base Agents.
Ally Upgrades
Completely unlock any Agent’s Skill TreeSelf-explanatory. Also requires the Tempered Weapon unlock.
Hold Your Temper
Unlock a Tempered Weapon
Tempered Weapons are on the final tier of Agent Skill unlocks. Seric Steel is required to unlock these weapons and is usually a reward for completing all optional tiers of a Hijacking Mission (which can be somewhat difficult). They can also be spawned randomly during missions sometime during the mid-to-end game (around the same time Crossroad Beacons are unlocked). You can save and reload a mission to change the loot, but it’s only worth doing so if the first couple of areas are easily lootable.
Madame Mei has upgrades that increase the level cap of the Undrawn Hand Cards. Get these ASAP. She also has upgrades that increase t he number of cards rewarded upon mission completion. I’ve gotten up to 5 cards during longer missions that have multiple Motes of Fate. Note that you can upgrade cards in 2 ways:
- Stacking Duplicates
- Spending Ink
Spending Ink is very expensive for Level 3 and 4 cards, but I highly recommend upgrading all (useful) cards up to Level 3 so you can reach Level 5 sooner via duplicates and earn A Full Hand.
Twist of Fate
Upgrade any Undrawn Hand Card to Level III
A Full Hand
Upgrade any Undrawn Hand Card to Level V
Full Pockets
Equip an Agent by filling all 6 Item Slots
Mother Amina and Danys Belfort each have 1 upgrade that increases your item slots to a total of 3 consumables. The 3 equipment slots are already initially available and can be filled as soon as you can purchase/obtain (via mission rewards) equipment.
Agent Pairings (Mission Sortie)
To knock these out real quick, start a new game and toggle the “skip the intro” feature to pre-select your starting Agents. Complete any random mission to get a few of these achievements at a time. Rinse and repeat.

Overlapping Circles

The Renegades
Complete a Mission successfully with Ana Sofía and Jianyi in your squad
Defiance
Complete a Mission successfully with Fedir and Judith in your squad
The Professionals
Complete a Mission successfully with Fedir and Purnima in your squad
Mission Types
Outside of the Keystone and Heist missions, there are also relatively important yet optional mission types related to achievements.
- Assassination/Public Enemy
- Crossroad Beacon/Infernal Device – I found these missions to be in short supply. Complete them sparingly because these missions have the added benefit of reverting a Scion’s House progress back to the nearest breakpoint. This is especially potent against Lady Nicastro.
- Hijacking (no achievement: difficult, but rewarding) – Despite not having an achievement tied to these missions, it’s still worth attempting one during your Explorer run because completing all rounds of a Hijacking mission usually rewards Seric Steel—a resource needed to fully upgrade your skill tree and earn the Hold Your Temper and Self-Actualization achievements.
The Fish Rots from the Head
Complete an Assassination.
Assassinations simply consist of eliminating a target (usually an Officer) and escaping. Note that although shock mines don’t lure Assassination targets, you can still use them to instakill the target if it lands along their path (before it alerts them).
Destroy a Crossroads Beacon.Crossroad Beacon (Infernal Device) missions usually consist of destroying a large device surrounded by ~6 generators. The generators typically have a shield that needs to be hit once to deactivate. Once all generators are destroyed, the device is automatically destroyed as well.
It’s very important to position yourself close to the beacon before initiating combat because you only have a limited amount of rounds to destroy all generators. I recommend bringing in grenades or Agents that have the capacity to hit multiple targets (Fedir & Eddie).
Scion Missions
Sometimes, non-critical missions appear on the World Map with a Scion icon beside it. This means the missions is personally overseen by a Scion and will have a slight bump in difficulty. Defeating the Scion during these missions nets the achievements below.
You’re Fired
Defeat Trace Marteau in a non-Critical Mission
Trace Marteau likes to teleport around the map. Additionally, the tesla coils placed down reduce movement when you move within their range. The white spheres also leave an electric field in their wake if you don’t destroy them before they detonate in your proximity.
The King is Displeased
Defeat Lady Nicastro in a non-Critical Mission
The Conqueror Conquered
Defeat Lord Strum in a non-Critical Mission
Cumulative / Miscellaneous
Deal a total of 10000 damage across all Agents
Wrestling with Demons
Remove a Breaking Card by taking the affected Agent on a Mission
Breaking Cards can happen when you experience a Stress Break during a mission. They are revealed at the same time you draw cards from the Undrawn Hand. Simply deploy an Agent successfully in a mission for the Wrestling with Demons achievement. I’m not sure if you get a new Breaking Card if you enter Stress Break again during the same mission you are trying to remove the initial Breaking Card.
Stay With Me, Buddy
Stabilize an Agent in Mortal Danger
An Agent enters Mortal Danger when their HP reaches 0 and they go down. Stabilizing them requires 1 AP. Successively entering Mortal Danger has greater adverse consequences.
Monster Slayers
Defeat a total of 100 monsters
❗❗Currently Broken❗❗
Tables Turned
Defeat Lady Nicastro in the Tutorial mission “A Hasty Escape”
