Getting the most Elevation Rate out of your cannon.
It’s actually very simple. You just have to adjust the barrel until the blue bar (which represents the barrel’s center of mass offset) disappears, or as short as possible.
If the blue bar is behind the mantlet, increase the length and/or thickness of your barrel/base, or decrease them if the blue bar is in front of the mantlet. Shorter/thinner barrel isn’t always better, you have to find the perfect balance.
For example, this 100mm gun with max elevation torque have enough barrel length, but the center of mass is too behind the mantlet.
So we increase its length and thickness, shortening the blue bar until it is gone.
The gun is now perfectly balanced, elevation rate increased from 3.13 to 4.08, while the longer barrel also slightly increased penetration and accuracy.
Thanks to Helios for his great guide, all credit to his effort. you can also read the original guide from Steam Community. enjoy the game.
