Red Dead Online: Achievement Guide (How to Get)

Description: Complete the intro.
After the opening cutscene, follow the instructions and go on the mission to steal a horse. After you delivered the horse you are prompted to go meet your guy at your new camp. When you arrive at your camp and have the conversation, you’ll get it.

Description: Take part in a Series.
After you complete the prologue for Red Dead Online, you’ll be able to play a showdown series. If you’re In-game, you can press ‘L’ > Quick Join > Series of your choice. You can also press ‘ESC > Online’ to join.

Description: Accept 10 Free Roam missions from characters around the world.
To get this achievement, you simply need to perform 10 missions found on the map. I would recommend performing missions for 10 different quest givers (if you haven’t met them, they will be listed as ‘Stranger’ on your map).

Description: Play 5 Free Roam Events
When you’re in freeroam, you’ll get a notification on the top left of your screen telling you a freeroam event is taking place. Press L then accept it. These will appear roughly every 45 minutes. (Note: Free roam events are PvP)

Description: Achieve 5 gold belt buckles from awards.
When you complete a challenge, you’ll earn 0.3 gold nuggets & A buckle which you can equip at your wardrobe and have the option to reset. You can view them by pressing ESC then heading to progress. (Note: Some challenges can not be reset).

Description: Achieve MVP 3 times (in a round with at least 4 players).
This one can be a bit tricky for some people. The easiest way to complete this is to constantly play showdown series and aim to be the best player. The lobby must have at least 4 other players to unlock this achievement.

Description: Concurrently own 5 horses.
To unlock this, you must own 5 horses. Before buying more horses you must buy more room at the stable. For the stables it will cost you $1,500 so I recommend waiting for this achievement until you have everything you want.

Description: Reach Rank 10.
Reaching Rank 10 will take a total of 1,875 XP. Take part in matches/series, completing story or stranger missions, completing awards challenges, or even just hunting, fishing, and collecting herbs will earn the player XP.

If you want to speed up the process slightly I would suggest either competing in lots of matches, or just focusing on stranger missions & selling cargo.

Description: Reach Rank 50.
Reaching Rank 10 will take a total of 4,875 XP. Take part in matches/series, completing story or stranger missions, completing awards challenges, or even just hunting, fishing, and collecting herbs will earn the player XP.

If you want to speed up the process slightly I would suggest either competing in lots of matches, or just focusing on stranger missions & selling cargo.

Description: Successfully counter a rival Posse’s free roam mission.
You simply need to thwart another player or team’s attempt to complete a Free Roam mission — i.e. a non-story mission that takes place in the shared world with all players.

Description: Purchase 5 camp improvements.
Camp upgrades can be purchased from Cripps at your camp marked with a Blue tent symbol. The easiest and least expensive way to do this is to buy 5 different flag colours. To do this you will need about $250 since each colour is $50.

Description: Craft 25 pieces of ammunition.
To get this achievement, get to rank 28 and purchase the split point pamphlet which will cost you $385. Find any campfire and start crafting rifle, repeater, pistol etc. ammo.

Description: Form a Persistent Posse.
You can form a temporary posse which is free for everyone, or you can purchase a persistent posse which costs $200. To purchase press L > Posse.

Description: Craft 20 items (excluding ammo).
To get this achievement quick, pick a bunch of flowers & skin animals – with this you’ll be able to craft special meats with herbs or tonics. Crafting ammo won’t work with this achievement.

Description: Sell 20 items to the Butcher.
Kill & Skin multiple animals. Pretty simple achievement. I recommend skinning the animals as they tend to give you more items compared to selling their carcasses.

Description: Pick 25 herbs
Another simple achievement which will take less than 10 minutes to do. If you can’t hold anymore herbs just delete the item as they’re easily obtainable.

Description: Complete a Free Roam mission as part of a Posse with at least 2 members.
Invite a friend or stranger to your posse and complete the nearest stranger mission. Everyone in your lobby will get this achievement too.
