This guide will take you through some bits of (hopefully) useful information.
Quick start
To move your character, simply move your mouse.
Each character has a unique ability, which you can use by pressing the right mouse button.
To deal damage to enemies, move your character through them. The point at which enemies receive damage is the center of your character.
To keep track of what’s going on, let’s take a look at the HUD.
In the top left, we can see the current ability icon and our health. Each time we take damage, a single heart will turn hollow. Each time we regain health, it will turn red instead.
In the top right part of the screen, we can keep track of our progress. The wave counter is increased on each successful wave clear. Our score is also visible under the wave counter.
The last part of the HUD can be seen on the bottom. Each weapon we obtain will land in one of those 6 spots. This also means that the maximum number of weapons is 6.
Each weapon in the inventory slot will display the current weapon level on top.
Our items will be placed on the left and right side of the inventory bar instead. The maximum number of items is 10.
Each time an enemy is killed, there is a chance that it will drop a heart behind.
By default, upon pickup the heart will restore one of your hollow hearts (if there are any).
You might be a bit confused when starting the game and dying quite a lot.
You might be tempted to rush to enemies soon as you can before they can deal damage to you.
This is a quite common mistake, as your hitbox is actually a circle around the sword sprite:
This means that unless the red circle touches the enemy while its attacking, you will not receive damage.

Weapons
After each wave you will be prompted to select a weapon and add it to your arsenal.
By default you will see 3 choices shown for you from a list of available weapons.
⠀
Once you hover over an item, details will be shown below.
All items start at level 1 when you add them to your inventory and they can be upgraded one level at a time. This can be done when the same item appears on the selection screen.
The maximum level is 8.
You might also choose to reroll; this option will switch out the shown weapon for other ones.
By default you will be able to reroll 5 times through out your run.

⠀
Once you hover over an item, details will be shown below.
Items as opposed to weapons, do not have levels and cannot be upgraded.
Just as with weapons, you might choose to reroll; this option will switch out the shown items for different ones.
