Watcher of Realms: Recommended Strategy For All Stages A1 to A10 (Assassin’s Code)

Assassin’s Code has 10 puzzle stages (A-1 to A-10) requiring precise hero placement and timing. Core rules: Bayak only kills platform units, red zones = instant fail, sleeping enemies die from anywhere, some enemies require back attacks. My rigid sequence: A-1 tutorial → A-2 avoid red range → A-3 manage hero ranges → A-4 reposition and recall Ivor before death → A-5 time moving enemies → A-6 use bush stealth → A-7 coordinate double kills → A-8 patience with marksman turns → A-9 strict kill order → A-10 heavy SEO bush movement. Key heroes: Bayak, Cassandra, Ivor, SEO.

Why Most Players Get Stuck on Stages A-4 and A-7

The community consensus on Reddit is that Assassin’s Code is “easy until it isn’t.” I disagree with the framing — it’s not a difficulty spike, it’s a mechanics check. Stages A-4 and A-7 punish players who treat this like a tower defense game instead of a timing puzzle. The red range indicator is the single most important UI element, and ignoring it will fail you instantly. My approach: treat every enemy patrol pattern as a clock, not a threat.

The Hero Kit That Carries the Whole Event

You don’t need a massive roster for this. Four heroes cover every stage:

Hero Role Critical Use
Bayak Platform execution Only unit that kills platform enemies
Cassandra Ranged single-target Back attacks and sleeping enemies
Ivor AoE burst Multi-kill windows
SEO Stealth assassin Bush invisibility, backstab kills

I keep Bayak and Ivor as my primary damage dealers and use SEO exclusively for stealth eliminations and Cassandra for precision shots.

Stage A-1: Tutorial (Don’t Skip the Lesson)

The first stage teaches the one rule that defines the entire event: Bayak can only kill platform units. Follow the on-screen prompts, place Bayak, and use his ultimate to eliminate the target. Nothing else happens here. I recommend paying attention even if you’re experienced — the game is establishing its core constraint language.

Stage A-2: Red Range Awareness

The red area marks enemy attack range. Placing any hero inside it is an instant fail. My sequence:

  1. Place Bayak to kill the first enemy.
  2. Kill the next two enemies.
  3. Place Cassandra to eliminate the platform enemy.
  4. Note that the sleeping enemy dies from anywhere, but the other enemy requires a back attack.
  5. Hit the back enemy with Cassandra, then drop SEO to finish the sleeping one.

Warning: The back-attack requirement is easy to miss. If your attack doesn’t register, reposition before the enemy turns.

Stage A-3: Range Management

Early stages stay forgiving, but range awareness matters. My order:

  1. Kill the first enemy.
  2. Kill the second enemy.
  3. Use Ivor for the third.
  4. Kill the sleeping enemy.
  5. Move SEO to eliminate the last one.

Nothing here will punish you harshly, but I use this stage to warm up my positioning habits for later.

Stage A-4: Timing and Repositioning

This is the first real check. The stage demands you wait for enemy movement and pull heroes back at the right moment. My exact sequence:

  1. Wait, then kill the first enemy with Cassandra.
  2. Recall Cassandra immediately.
  3. When the patrol moves away, place Bayak to kill the platform enemy.
  4. Use Ivor to take out two enemies.
  5. Recall Ivor before it dies — this is the critical step.
  6. Kill the back enemy from behind.
  7. Wait for the moving enemy, then kill it. Keep SEO out of the red range.

Tip: Ivor’s recall timing is the difference between a clean clear and a dead hero. I always pull Ivor the moment the second enemy drops.

Stage A-5: Moving Enemies

Enemies now patrol actively, so timing becomes the whole game. My route:

  1. Wait for the enemy to reach the trigger point.
  2. Place Ivor and kill two enemies.
  3. Recall Ivor.
  4. Wait — do nothing.
  5. Kill the back enemy with Cassandra.
  6. Use Ivor on another enemy.
  7. Use Bayak on the next one.
  8. Move Ivor to kill the sleeping enemy.

Multiple solutions exist here, but this sequence works consistently. The “wait and do nothing” step is deliberate — rushing pulls enemies into bad positions.

Stage A-6: Bush and Redeployment

The bush introduces stealth mechanics, and redeployment becomes a real tool. My sequence:

  1. Place Cassandra and kill the first enemy.
  2. Wait for the enemy to turn around, then place Bayak and kill him.
  3. Place Ivor and kill two enemies.
  4. Wait for the enemy to complete his patrol loop.
  5. Wait for another enemy to turn, then use Ivor on him.
  6. Transport SEO to kill the remaining two.

The bush isn’t just cover — it’s a repositioning anchor. I use it to reset SEO’s approach angle.

Stage A-7: Tricky Timing

This is the hardest mid-event stage. Multiple enemies, tight windows, and coordination demands. My exact order:

  1. Wait, then use Ivor to kill the middle enemy and recall him.
  2. Wait for both marksmen to turn away, then place Bayak and kill both.
  3. Wait for an enemy to approach the sleeping one.
  4. Use Ivor to kill both when they cluster.
  5. Use Cassandra on the sleeping enemy.
  6. Use SEO for the next enemy, then move SEO to kill the last one.

Note: The double-kill window on step 4 is tight. If you miss it, restart the stage — the timing doesn’t realign cleanly.

Stage A-8: Patience and Positioning

This stage rewards patience over aggression. My sequence:

  1. Wait for the enemy to move, then place the marksman and kill him.
  2. When the marksman turns around, use Bayak to kill him.
  3. Place SEO on the sleeping enemy’s tail to kill him.
  4. Move SEO to the redeployable tail to kill another enemy.
  5. Recall SEO.
  6. Place Ivor and kill two enemies.
  7. Use SEO and Cassandra on the remaining two.

The key insight here is that marksmen turn at predictable intervals. I time my placements to their rotation, not mine.

Stage A-9: Order Matters

The sequence is flexible, but following this order works every time:

  1. Kill the first enemy with SEO.
  2. Optionally use SEO’s ultimate on another — waiting is also fine.
  3. Place Ivor and kill one enemy.
  4. Place Bayak and kill another, then recall Bayak.
  5. Confirm the incoming enemy is within SEO’s range before moving.
  6. Use Bayak to kill two more enemies.
  7. Use Cassandra to kill two sleeping enemies.
  8. Wait for the last enemy to look into the ocean, then use Ivor to kill him.

Tip: The “look into the ocean” moment on step 8 is your safest back-attack window. Don’t rush it.

Stage A-10: The Most Difficult Stage

Heavy SEO movement and bush stealth define the final stage. My complete route:

  1. Place SEO in the bush (invisible) to kill the first enemy and build ultimate.
  2. When the enemy moves away, place Bayak to kill him, then recall Bayak.
  3. Place Ivor and kill the next enemy.
  4. Use Bayak to kill another enemy.
  5. Place SEO again, kill an enemy, move SEO to kill another, then recall SEO.
  6. Use Ivor on an enemy, then Bayak on another, and recall Bayak.
  7. Use Cassandra to kill an enemy.
  8. Wait, then use Bayak on another enemy.
  9. Use the bush to hide SEO.
  10. When the enemy moves back, transport SEO to kill him.
  11. Recall SEO and kill the final enemy.

The order can shift slightly, but the bush is your lifeline. I keep SEO invisible as much as possible and only expose him for kills.
